3W: Why Qerba? Why Ahlalbayt? What Contributions?
The mawla Abialfadhl Al-Abbas or the standard bearer in times of calamites ploughs a pathway to all the free in the world and epitomizes great sheer levels of valour, sacrifice and faith in the face of macabre atrocities! He is the man who takes hold of both the water skin, qerba, and the hoisting standard of the Hashemites and grits his teeth to have these sacred duties achieved at all costs. On shielding his brother, imam Al-Hussein, religion and humanity the moon of the Hashemites resolves.
For such an iconic paragon the duties tend to be promises to himself as a warrior against vice and as a bulwark against religious deviation and disaffiliation: his mission is a win-win one to quench the thirsty in the imam Al-Hussein camp and to keep the flag high and higher. As the quintessence of the unwavering loyalty to such promises he is partial to martyrdom over everything mundane, thus the Qerba Journal focuses on certain angles of Ahlalbayt heritage: Islam is the religion of self-improvement and it is a duty for all to widen the knowledge scope.
No field of erudition or edification is better than the Muhammedean teachings and the “heirs of the prophets” thought that decode the divine wisdom, show the best ways to welfare and peace and prove their principles applicable contemporary life and its broad complicated troubles: AI employment, economic, social inequality, climate change, environmental crisis, war, proxy war, political and geopolitical instability, global insecurity, health challenges and the like. Such stipulates the “phronesis” of Ahlalbayt to buttress objective methods of thinking in settling and mitigating the human plights worldwide. The journal offers a platform for researchers to run in alignment with the Ahlalbayt heritage hinging on Quran, Hadith, sermons, speeches and Fiqh.
There are three types of Ahlalbayt contributions: in the first, the Quranic exegesis guides man into various lands of knowledge, none could reach without the mentality of the imams, in the second, the phronesis man truly misses in modern age to cultivate himself and tame his surroundings and in the third, the golden chain the imams shape to ensure the depth of Islamic knowledge and streamline the process of knowledge exchange: from imams to people, that is, from its true source to its real interlocutors.
Specific papers the editorial board of the journal in the first issue gleans to invite both researchers and readers to participate in the scope of the journal with novel contributions, new data and interpretation or explication, gaps bridging, norms exposing and other creative ideas in the orbit of Ahlalbayt.
